Multifamily Structural Engineering Projects
Our multifamily structural engineering work ranges from new co-housing communities to repairs on apartment buildings where people are living through the construction. We handle both: structural design for new multiple-family dwellings, and upgrades, retrofits and balcony and deck replacements on existing ones.
Existing apartment buildings bring their own problems. Tight sites, occupants who can’t move out, and fire and life safety requirements that still apply while the work is underway. On one recent job the city required two exits for occupants at all times during construction, so we designed a way to provide them with temporary scaffold stair towers.
We have also provided pro-bono structural design for Habitat for Humanity builds in Eugene many times over the years.
For the services behind this work, see Decks & Balconies and Commercial Structural Engineering.
