Structural and Civil Engineering Across Oregon, From Our Eugene Office
Our office is at 325 West 13th Avenue in Eugene, and we’ve been in practice for 25 years. A structural engineer who works statewide doesn’t need an office in every town. We’ll travel anywhere in Oregon, and much of the work — design, calculations, drawings, coordination with your architect and contractor, and permit administration — can be done remotely. In-person meetings aren’t a requirement.

How we work at a distance
The engineering itself doesn’t change with the address. What changes is the travel.
- Design and administration happen remotely. We model projects in Revit, share review sets at milestones, and keep you updated on progress and delivery dates by phone and email, wherever you are.
- Site visits still happen when a project needs them. Existing buildings, as-builts and damaged structures have to be seen and measured. Depending on the distance and scope, travel may increase the cost of site visits. We’ll tell you that up front, in the fee estimate, not after the fact.
- The permit goes to your jurisdiction, not ours. Every city and county has its own reviewers and its own way of doing things. Our job is to find out what yours wants and deliver a package that gets through review with as few questions as possible.
Licensed in Oregon, Washington and California
Our engineers are licensed in three states. In Washington, we delivered the complete design for a new Bi-Mart store in Elma — civil site development, structural design and coordination of the full consultant team — worked with the City of Elma to get it permitted, then ran the sealed bid process for the owner. We also work with federal agencies, including the US Forest Service and the FAA. Our insurance limit is $3 million, so we qualify for any contract. See Licensure & Credentials for details.
What we can and can't do remotely
We can take on a project entirely remotely. Plan review on its own is harder: Oregon law doesn’t allow us to stamp plans prepared by someone else, so to put our seal on a project we generally need to produce the documents ourselves. If that’s your situation, call us and we’ll talk through what makes sense.
Where we work most
- Eugene & Springfield — home. Residential, commercial and campus-area work, permitted through the Cities of Eugene and Springfield.
- Lane County — outside the city limits, including the as-built permits for unpermitted construction that local jurisdictions know us for.
- Oregon Coast — from a historic building on bay mud in Coos Bay to a tower replacement at Otter Rock. We’d like to do more here.
- Bend & Central Oregon — custom light poles for Sisters, and a market we’d like more work in.
- Portland and Southern Oregon — markets we serve remotely and by travel, and want more work in.
If your town isn’t named here, that doesn’t mean we won’t take the job. Call us and ask.
