Tower and Telecom Engineering Projects

Tower engineering and telecom work are among our most common project types. We take on what a new tower site needs to get built: the civil site and yard design, the land use application, and the structural design of the tower foundation and supports. We also work on existing sites where the tower has to be replaced while it stays in service.

That last part is often the hard one. At Otter Rock on the Oregon coast the old tower couldn’t be taken down, because its antennas couldn’t go off the air for the time a demolition and rebuild would take. A new 150-foot tower was built around the old one, we designed the foundation system for both, and the broadcasts were interrupted only briefly while the antennas moved across.

Our tower engineering projects include work for broadcasters, wireless carriers and federal agencies. Clients have included Silke Communications, Oregon Public Broadcasting, Verizon Wireless, T-Mobile and American Tower.

For the services behind this work, see Tower & Telecom Engineering.
